AMER MISSION

 

AMER is a unique organization that only acts on disasters.

 

AMER is an I.R.S. registered 501© (3) tax-exempt organization; as a non-profit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization.

 

The American Muslims for Emergency and Relief, Inc. (AMER) is organized

and shall be operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.

To further its Purpose of existence, the organization will offer direct and

indirect services/assistance to needy individuals, families, or communities

(both domestically and International) in close coordination with federal,

State, or local government; and local faith and community based

Organizations utilizing public, private, and individual resources.

These services and assistance may include relief and recovery efforts,

food distribution, disaster mitigation, housing, volunteer assistance,

education and skills training, employment, children and elderly services,

prevention and intervention services, and assistance.

 

AMER OBJECTIVES:

- AMER main objective is to make our communities stronger, safer, and best

  prepared to respond to the danger and the threats of terrorism and

  other disasters.

- To foster the concepts and realities of mitigation as a real tool that

  lessens the effects of a disaster.

- To assist our citizens through education and planning to be prepared to

  survive and recover from natural and man-made disasters or acts of

  terrorism that impact our community and country.

- Provide relief assistance to victims and refugees of disasters, poverty,

  victims of war,  etc. 

- Promote public awareness on current situation in areas of concerns.

- Set up emergency temporary and permanent relief offices or/and

   distribution centers for humanitarian efforts.

- Assist local and national authorities and organizations in projects

   to prevent terrorism and disasters in general.

- Provide storages and locations to provide emergency equipments,

  medical supplies, food, clothes, tents, blankets, etc.

- Prepare volunteers to assist in disasters.

 

AMER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

- Efforts to assist in Iran Quake on 2003 by collecting blankets and money.

- Participated in Tsunami relief efforts on 2005 by sending financial assistance.

- Participated in the relief efforts for Guiana Flood of 2005 by

  sending US25, 000

  new clothes to the needy in that area.

- Participated in Hurricane Katrina by sending two 48 Ft. trucks full of

  food and new clothes and other supplies to Paton Rouge and to

  New Orleans on 2005.

- Participating in Hurricane Wilma by providing meals and food for

  the needy in South Florida on 2005.

- Participating in the efforts to assist in Pakistan Earthquake on 2005.
